Existential Fears is the debut studio album by Lucas Official, fully self-produced and independently released through his own label, BluLight Official Music Co. Written during one of the darkest periods of his life, the concept album serves as both a confession and a turning point—documenting pain, loss, love, doubt, and the slow transformation into not only who he is today—but who he’s determined to become.
The album opens with Can You Hear Me?, a raw reflection on a toxic relationship that left scars and unanswered questions. From there, Let You Down explores family fractures—addressing the abandonment of an older sister while expressing deep gratitude for younger siblings who became a reason to keep moving forward. Grief takes center stage in Constellations, a tribute to Lucas’s grandmother, followed by Dear Mama, a heartfelt letter of appreciation to the woman who held everything together.
Romantic loss and longing resurface in WYD Now?, capturing the ache of missing someone after letting them go, while Little Rockstar shifts the tone toward strength—honoring his father’s pride and belief as a lifeline during moments of self-doubt. One of the album’s heaviest moments arrives with Ebony Tears, a tribute to a friend lost to suicide, confronting grief in its most permanent form.
Despite the darkness, hope flickers throughout the project. Soulmates? revisits love with uncertainty but optimism, questioning destiny while holding onto possibility. Be Somebody marks a turning point—where vulnerability turns into resolve, and Lucas confidently declares his intention to rise beyond his circumstances.
The album closes with its title track, Existential Fears, where Lucas confronts the deeper questions that inspired the entire project: fear of eternal loneliness, fear of never being understood, and fear of not becoming enough. In naming these fears, he strips them of their power.
Existential Fears isn’t just an album—it’s a survival story, a self-portrait, and a declaration of growth. It captures the moment where pain becomes purpose and fear becomes fuel.
